Our codes are most often a two digit number or two letter prefix followed by a series of numerals. Occasionally the prefix is three letters to avoid confusion between manufacturers on our system.
More recently, we have begun to incorporate manufacturers’ model numbers into our computer codes to avoid unnecessary creation of more codes and to simplify the process of ordering.
The information shown in the third column from the left is included to simplify and clarify the ordering process:
for harmonicas & accordions, the key of the particular instrument within a model range is shown;
for tuned percussion, the range of the instrument is shown;
for some smaller items, the basic purchase unit is shown, e.g. PK for "pack" or "EA" or "EACH" when sold individually.
in most other cases, the manufacturer’s model number is shown (this means if you’ve seen it on the manufacturer’s website, we can cross reference the model number).
