CX12 Jazz
The casing of the CX-12 "Jazz", constructed on the basis of the tried and tested CX-12, has a great “new look” which doesn’t just have optical appeal.The new mouthpiece has been specially milled according to modern ergonomic principles so that the radius at the front is slightly smaller. This enables the player to enclose the channel openings more closely and fits perfectly to the form of the lips. The fast response and slightly higher reed offsets give a dynamic and powerful sound with plenty of drive. Tuned like a 10-hole Richter Diatonic, but the player can use the slide button to alternate between two keys a semitone apart like on a chromatic.
Holes 1, 2 & 3 allow a tonic chord (blow) and a dominant chord (draw) to be played in each key. On the C harmonica the notes are C, E & G for blow and D, G & B for draw on these holes with the button out, and Db, F & Ab (blow) and Eb, Ab & C (draw) with the button pushed in.
The Koch does not have the valves or "wind-savers" that are built into the other Chromatic models. This means that note bending is possible as on the diatonic or "blues" harp.
