All Octave Tuned harmonicas, except the Autovalve and Knittlinger Marine Band Octave models, feature the curved body shape. They all have divided "channels" (ie each hole has a horizontal dividing piece) meaning that each vertical pair of holes sounds two notes (one octave apart) when blown because of a second set of reeds. This second set of reeds is tuned one octave lower than the primary set.
On all non-Richter layout Octave models, also called "Vienna" Octave tuned, a particular vertical pair of holes sounds ONLY WHEN BLOWN and its horizontal neighbouring pair will sound ONLY when drawn. One can think of the holes as grouped in "fours" or of single holes divided vertically and horizontally to help visualise this. See diagram below:

The KNITTLINGER Autovalve octave tuned harmonicas have extra wide holes with a horizontal divider. The pairs of blow and draw reeds are side by side within the same channel, with the octave tuned reeds in the lower half of each vertical pair as in the diagram below.

Again, the pattern is continued throughout the instrument in the same kind of note layout as the Richter diatonics:

All Hohner Octave tuned harmonicas have a wooden (maple) comb except the Comet line, which has the famous red plastic comb.
Please note, the paint on the front of the wooden comb is a decorative layer which is prone to wear when played even for a short time. It is therefore considered usual wear and tear if this paint comes off. This paint is a harmless substance which is approved for use in objects contacting the mouth by the German Health department. Under German and European manufacturing Health and Safety regulations, a stronger type of paint cannot be used.

The Autovalve harmonica has the note layout and feel of a normal diatonic (straight) 10-hole harp combined with the Knittlinger valves of the chromatic harmonica (for conserving the breath) and the tone of the Octave tuning.
Note bending is not possible due to the fully valved construction.
